Deuteronomy 23:4-6

4 because they did not meet you with food and water on your journey after you came out of Egypt, and because they hired Balaam son of Beor from Pethor of Aram Naharaim[a] to curse you. 5 But the Lord your God was not willing to listen to Balaam, and the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loved you. 6 Do not seek their peace and prosperity as long as you live.
